Our Very First Duck Egg!

Our First Duck Egg!

Today marks the very first day of our Duck Squad adventures! When we went to feed and change out pool water, we found this amazingly beautiful duck egg!

A New Home For Riley Jenkins!

A New Home For Riley Jenkins!

My sweet little Riley Jenkins has been living in a bird cage for the past five months or so. The cage seemed plenty big enough for just Riley Jenkins every since her sister died and especially since she was so tiny. And, I don't know how it happened, but it seems like Riley Jenkins went through a huge growth spurt in the last week. Now, she can stand up and grab the top of the cage; you can just tell that the bird cage is WAY to small because she looks like a giant in it. So after looking through the garage and in the house we decided to convert this old dresser into a new home for her.

Author Spotlight - Joleene Naylor

Author Spotlight : Joleene Naylor

[these books] are for adults... both the violence and the sex are not teenage stuff... and lurking behind the storyline is an adult theme. - Steve Evans, author of Demented

A dark PNR with "let me catch my breath" action, a dark and violent vampire world and the "be still my heart" vampire Jorick... Joleene is a gifted writer. Her tight and vivid prose is a joy to read and the dialogue and situations the characters deal with are full of emotion - Sharon S., reviewer for I Smell Sheep

Shades of Gray - Amaranthine Series (Book 1) by Joleene Naylor

Shades of Gray - Amaranthine Series (Book 1) by Joleene Naylor

Joleene Naylor has created an out-of-this-world supernatural thriller, filled with all kinds of wondrous paranormal adventures, that I immediately fell in love with!! I enjoyed that the book had a True Blood feel to it and was more an adult rather than a teen vampire story. The characters are complex and well blended into the story. I have to say; there was not one thing that I didn't like in this book!

Mexican Open Faced Sandwich Recipe

Mexican Open Faced Sandwich Recipe

Our Open Faced Sandwiches

A long, long, LONG time ago, we found a recipe for open faced sandwiches. I liked the recipe, but my mother and children did not like it at all! So, I tweaked it and tweaked it until finally everyone approved.

We all love this sandwich so much now that we have to triple it every time we eat it for dinner! Of course, there are five of us in the house, and we always want more than one-half of a loaf, even if it is for leftovers the next day! And let me tell you, this sandwich is so good that there is always someone begging to have it made at least once a week!
